Laura Wright

Rockdale Temple is pleased to announce a transition in administrative leadership.  Laura Wright is the new Executive Director of Rockdale Temple, having accepted the position on May 1, 2020. Wright brings her previous professional experience as an Executive Director of Temple Sholom as well as years of active volunteer service in the Cincinnati Jewish Community to her new role.

Although not a native Cincinnatian, Wright and her family have lived here since 2004, and Cincinnati is their adopted hometown. Wright and her husband Harry Guttman have two grown children who also reside in Cincinnati.

As Executive Director, Wright leads the administrative staff and works closely with Acting Senior Rabbi Meredith Kahan and the volunteer leadership of the Temple. John Cobey, Rockdale Temple President, noted that, “Laura’s respect for and love of people and the Jewish religion and traditions manifest themselves by her creative and hard work in making the Jewish world and especially our congregation better.”

Wright commented, “It is an honor to be joining a community that quite literally started Jewish life in Cincinnati, and continues to lead, innovated, and inspire.  I look forward to getting to know the congregation as we prepare to celebrate the first 200 years of Rockdale Temple, and to plan for the next steps in the journey of our Rockdale Temple family.”
