Shabbat Neshama at Adath Israel Congregation, held one Friday evening most months, will be celebrated this Friday, Oct. 15 at 6-7 pm. With music led by Mitch Cohen and Debbie Lembert, who are joined this week by Raphaela Mellman on the flute, Rabbi Smolkin connects the congregation to Shabbat and the coming week.
This Kabbalat Shabbat service will be held in the Sukkah plaza, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, it will be moved to the Social Hall.
The event is BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair), BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket) and BYOI (Bring Your Own Instruments — shakers, triangles, hand drums, guitars and more!) Chairs and blankets should still be brought even if the service is in the Social Hall. Masks are not required outdoors, but are required for ages 2 and up inside.
All ages are welcome. The service is informal and lasts an hour. Advance registration is required on the Adath Israel website.
