The Valley Temple, a Reform congregation and member of the Union for Reform Judaism, is hosting a Prospective Member Open House on Friday, Aug. 23.

Prospective members are invited to attend an evening designed to showcase the sense of community and inclusiveness that this smaller congregation has to offer.

The evening begins at 7 p.m. with a Temple tour. Prospective members will have the opportunity to learn about the innovative religious school program for toddlers through high school students, the adult learning programs (including multi-level Hebrew), and the active Sisterhood, Men’s Club, and Youth Group.

Attendees are also invited to attend Shabbat services at 7:30 p.m. This week’s service will feature Valley’s vibrant “Friday Night Live” band. The band includes both Temple members and professional musicians and seeks to create an inviting and interactive approach to worship. Following the service, everyone is invited to attend the weekly Oneg Shabbat to enjoy refreshments and meet Rabbi Sandford Kopnick and current members.

The Valley Temple is at 145 Springfield Pike in Wyoming. For more information on this event or Valley Temple, please call Wendy Walsh, Temple administrator.
