Jewish National Fund is honoring Dr. Dean Kereiakes and his wife Anne Kereiakes at the annual Tree of Life Award Dinner in the Ohio Valley at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Cincinnati Music Hall. 

The Kereiakes are receiving the Tree of Life Award in recognition of their outstanding community involvement, dedication to the cause of American-Israeli friendship, and devotion to the peace and security of human life. 

“We are honored and humbled to receive the Jewish National Fund Tree of Life Award,” said the Kereiakes in a joint statement. “As medical professionals, we have spent our lives helping others overcome illnesses and disabilities. For almost 120 years, JNF’s impact has been felt throughout Israel in research and development and providing services for individuals with special needs and disabilities. JNF is the foremost organization in creating and sustaining a bright and prosperous future for the State of Israel.”

Dr. Kereiakes is an internationally respected cardiologist and clinical researcher who has received the Cincinnati Business Courier Healthcare Hero-Innovator Award, the Ohio Valley American Heart Association’s Kaplan Visionary Award, and was named Outstanding Alumnus of University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine. He was given an Honorary Doctorate of Sciences from the University of Cincinnati. 

Anne Kereiakes, a former cardiac intensive care head nurse, is an active civic volunteer who has served on the boards of the Cincinnati Ballet, the American Red Cross, and the Lindner Center of Hope Hospital. She has chaired multiple local charitable events, including the annual Heart Ball and USO Riverfest Gala. She recently helped successfully spearhead legislation requiring CPR training in all schools prior to graduation in the State of Ohio.
