Rabbi Miriam Terlinchamp of Temple Sholom will succeed founding Executive Director Dan Libenson as new Executive Director for Judaism Unbound, a digitally driven and open center for ideas, education, and connection. Terlinchamp’s new position comes after serving 13 years as Senior Rabbi at Temple Sholom in Cincinnati, OH. In her role as rabbi, Terlinchamp was instrumental in the sale of the congregation’s building for a more affordable space, as well as doubling congregational membership and founding “JustLove,” a multi-faith initiative.
Described as a “catalyst for an entirely new era of Judaism,” Judaism Unbound’s mission is not new to Terlinchamp. She was a guest on their podcast as well as co-teacher of Judaism Inbound – a recently launched 10-month online program for individuals considering conversion to Judaism.
“Judaism Unbound has changed the landscape for how we think about Jewish identity, practice and culture, cultivating a rich landscape for spiritual innovation and inclusivity,” Terlinchamp shared. “I am humbled and thrilled to join this team of spiritual revolutionists for the purpose of fostering more meaning and belonging in our world.”
Current Executive Director Libenson added, “Through her innovative spiritual work, her artistic energy in making videos for Temple Sholom, her commitment to out-of-the-box spiritual engagement, and her passion for teaching seekers, we think Miriam is a perfect fit to lead our community into the next stage of Judaism Unbound.”
Terlinchamp will most likely assume her role full-time in October, and will remain in her role as Rabbi at Temple Sholom through a transitional period. Libenson, who recently accepted a position as President of the Lippman Kanfer Foundation for Living Torah, will continue as Senior Fellow and member of the Board of Directors of Judaism Unbound, as well as co-host of the Judaism Unbound podcast with Senior Jewish Educator Lex Rofeberg.
